About My Work
Since the brain is our first archive, I begin by drawing from memory, often inspired by mythological stories (fables/science fiction) that I have read. This is a method of attempting to establish communication with the unconscious.
Gradually, my own experiences blend in. I often process impressions from everyday life, particularly visual communication in the urban landscape and media, as well as the traces and actions we leave behind, consciously or unconsciously. These impressions emerge in a balance between chance and control. They often trigger a process in which I try to view contemporary phenomena in a broader context, tracing lines back to the history of text and symbols.
My works become more representative and take on a collage-like nature. They emerge through a dialogue between the unconscious and the conscious, in an interplay between personal and collective memory.
